Supporting Mumpreneurs to Increase Profits
and Decrease Stress
Rochelle, why did you start Leaps 'n' Bounds Coaching?
Prior to starting Leaps 'n' Bounds Coaching I was working in a business that was 'successful' but I wasn't having any fun. All my energy was going into something I just didn't like! So I went to see a life coach - I wanted to find out what I really wanted to be doing. Through this process I realised how much I love working with people, how I really did love working for myself, and I discovered that coaching was an amazing profession.
Why work with Mumpreneurs? Being a mumpreneur for some years I have an intimate understanding of the challenges and the joys involved. I want to help form a world where working from home is a real option for every mother. Where mothers can spend quality and quantity time with their children while also being able to satisfy their entrepreneurial spirit. I strongly believe any mother who has the desire, can run a successful, profitable, balanced home business. Unfortunately I have seen too many mothers follow someone else's dream and end up unhappy, and often broke. I have seen too many mothers start up a business following their own dreams, only to make less money than they could have, had they just got a job. I am determined to inspire mothers to have thriving, joyful businesses and lives.
What qualifications do you have? I graduated from Auckland University majoring in Psychology which was just part of my journey into the fascination I have for people and how we work. I have been trained by the worlds premier coach training institute Coach U, and I continually undertake further study to ensure ongoing professional development. I am a strong advocate for working harder on yourself than you do on your business, and I have been involved in personal development for many years. I have an extensive reading and audio library, which I share with my clients. Perhaps most importantly I have 'been there, done that', made the mistakes, learned the lessons, and had my successes along the way. I have a natural inclination to think positively, see the opportunities and solutions where others see only problems, and translate them into real world strategies.
Tell us a bit more about you... I live in the coastal community of Pacific Paradise, on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, with my husband, Rickie, and our two children, Kyra and Codey. I consider myself a full time mother, and part time coach, facilitator and author. I am an active member of my local Lions Club where I get to give back to my community with my time and have fun while I'm doing it. I am also involved in the local Business Women's Network, where I serve on the marketing committee, and their mentor program. I am a member of Toastmasters International and am really enjoying the challenge (well mostly ;) ). I love to walk along the beach in summer as the sun is rising and every now and then get to see the dolphins 'walking' along with me. I love being a coach, I read at least an hour a day (mainly self development or business related, but am also a mad Stephen King and Harry Potter fan!!), and am privileged to spend lots of time with family and friends.
